Wedding Shoes

Since the wedding is a garden wedding, I have been searching for wedge shoes to wear that are comfortable. This has posed a major problem. The few shoes I have found that I really like get bad reviews for comfort. I am pretty short, so if I don't go with a wedge, I have to go with a heel.
Heels make me nervous because I am sure I will be nervous enough to fall on my face already. I have been searching for shoes for SO long.
If anyone has any suggestions about wedding wedges, I'd love to hear them!

Clean Coffee

I have always loved the flavored coffee creamers: Egg Nog Latte, Sugar Cookie, Peppermint Mocha- I bought them for every season and consumed them in (fairly) large amounts.

I always knew they had hydrogenated oil in them, but thought that a little bit wouldn't hurt. Of course, have a few cups of coffee a day and mindlessly pouring the creamer in probably added up to more hydrogenated oil(not to mention calories) than anybody should ever have.

In an effort to eat clean (and look decent in my wedding dress) I have cut out all creamers- and I really have noticed a difference. Not only does my coffee taste better, but there is no oily film in my mouth after I drink it. Plus, my new recipe has 0 WW points. The light soy milk adds protein and the cinnamon lowers unhealthy cholesterol levels. So, I can have as many as I want! Surprisingly, I don't miss my beloved creamers at all! Who knew that drinking something so delicious could be so good for you?

Clean Coffee

Black Coffee
1/4 cup light soy milk
ground cinnamon

The trick is to put the soy milk and ground cinnamon in the coffee mug first. Then, brew the coffee on top and give it a really good stir. Best coffee ever. Sorry International Delight, Coffee Mate, and Starbucks- I found a new favorite!

Review of "Be the People"

This book intrigued me because it's focus was on the way America has changed and the fact that we have simply lost a grip on the goals of our forefathers.
It discusses the lack of virtues in people today, and the importance of educating today's youth so that we don't continue down this path America is headed on.
All in all, this was a good book- certainly thought provoking. When I finished it, I thought about the things that are happening, such as Christmas being removed from schools and even the Christmas tree being called "the Holiday tree" and I am more aware than ever that America needs a big change. I highly recommend this book. Even if you don't agree with it's views on religion, family, and abortion, you will certainly learn something.

Saving $$$

It is a gorgeous day! This is my kind of weather. Nick is home today since he worked overnight last night and I am forcing him to go on a run with me. He doesn't feel well, but I think fresh air will do him good.

I watched extreme couponing last night and was inspired to start saving money. I decided to get groceries at Target instead of the normal grocery store and I saved so much money! I even have some of our weekly grocery allotment left for fun stuff! Big boxes of cereal for $3, limes and lemons for $.33, $1 for good Greek yogurt...
I play $6 for small box of cereal and $1 or more for 1 lime or lemon, $2-3 for 1 yogurt at our usual grocery store.
I love saving money! What a great feeling. Now I just need to collect coupons too and actually use them. Maybe we will get our own place after all...

Saturday Mornings

I love Saturday mornings! It's the only time I get to see Nick for an uninterrupted hour. We made pancakes and coffee and made a to-do list. He bought me flowers again last night. I thought he did something wrong, but he said that he just didn't want to ever get lazy at work or at home. Love it! Now he is headed to Starbucks in the rain to get some pumpkin spiced lattes.
It's officially fall, my favorite season. We got engaged 3 months ago today! Time flies by. I can't wait to get married! We finally picked our venue and booked our photographer. There is a lot more to do, but we are getting closer to the fun part- like looking at flowers and centerpieces. I can't wait to get my dress, but I am so nervous because I refuse to try on dresses until I get in shape. I have really set a fire under my butt, because I'm only getting married once and I can't postpone the wedding because my dress size isn't what I want it to be. Which just means I need to bust my butt EVERY day, no exceptions. This week went well, but the main problem I am having is shin splints. My shins hurt SO bad all of the time. Not sure why, I try to alternate with the elliptical and running, so I thought that would help. Oh well, no pain, no gain I guess.
I have a ton of school work to do. School is so much harder when you are older, because now I have a ton of responsibilities like laundry, scrubbing bathtubs, vacuuming, dusting, grocery shopping, etc. Can't imagine people that go to school and have kids! No way!!!
Noticed my normal blog pictures aren't showing up! What is going on with that? Guess I will try to post another pic and see what happens. Off to a day of studying, grocery shopping, gym, and maybe a nap if I'm lucky!
